Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams born August 20, 1974, Aviano Italy American actor. Noted for critically acclaimed performance of charming and naive individuals. Adams was born to an U.S. Army officer in Italy and grew in Castle Rock Colorado. Then, in the latter part of 1990s, she began professional dance and acting in Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. Following her move to Minnesota and appearing in an undocumentary-style film called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) which focused on beauty contests. In Los Angeles, she pursued acting as a profession following her film debut in which she portrayed a dizzy but friendly contestant. Between June 1951 and September of 1962, she got engaged with actor Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began after signing a MGM contract in the mid-1940s. Her work was noticed through actress Norma Shearer. In the 1960s, Leigh appeared in a variety of films, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho and Living It Up.
