Sofia Vergara
Sofia Margarita Vergara Vergara is a Colombian actress who was born and raised in Barranquilla. She has a mother named Margarita Vergara Davila de Vergara, is a housewife. Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo is her father. He raises cattle for the meat business. She has five siblings. She was educated at a bilingual, private Spanish and English school. After completing her pre-dentistry studies, Sofia began to work within the modeling and TV business. However, Sofia was discovered by photographer at the beach, and this led to various jobs as a model and a TV host. In her early twenties, she was a runway model. She hosted the travel show Fuera de serie (1996) between 1995 and 1998. This gave her exposure to the American public. Her first film role was on the crime-comedy Big Trouble (2002). Her most memorable role was Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the American television series Modern Family (2009). Between 2010 and 2013, she was awarded 4 Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the field of Comedy Series for this role. Sofia shares a home with son Manolo at home in Los Angeles.
